During forging and heat treatment, steel billets reach extremely high temperatures (typically 1100–1250°C); operators must wear protective gloves, safety glasses, and heat-resistant clothing to prevent burns and injuries from splashes. Forging equipment-such as presses and forging hammers-requires regular inspection and maintenance to ensure that mechanical safety devices function correctly and to prevent accidental injuries during operation.
Safety in Transport and Handling
Forged rings are typically large and heavy; lifting equipment must be used for handling, and manual lifting or carrying of suspended loads is strictly prohibited. Lifting rigging must meet load-bearing standards, and balance and stability must be maintained during hoisting to prevent damage or personal injury caused by the rings colliding or tipping over.
Safety in Installation and Use
During the installation of forged rings, ensure that the fit precision and bolt tightening torque meet design specifications to prevent leaks or mechanical failures caused by loosening, misalignment, or uneven stress. For rings subjected to high pressure or high-speed rotation, necessary pressure and rotation tests must be conducted prior to operation to verify their stability and safety.
Safety in Inspection and Maintenance
During routine maintenance, the system pressure must be cut off and the machine shut down; operations should only proceed after the equipment has cooled to a safe temperature. Inspections should focus on detecting cracks, wear, or corrosion on the ring surfaces; any anomalies must be addressed promptly to avoid safety hazards associated with high-pressure or high-speed operation.
